Odd Molly

If you think the only good things to come out of Sweden are ABBA and IKEA, then think again, ‘cos our collective favourite designer of the season is ODD MOLLY and we are not alone in our praise as they attained a prestigious industry design award in 2008, as well as securing Danish beauty Helena Christiansen as the face of their label. The collection is hard to pidgeon-hole - it is incredibly charming with a twist of vintage, whilst successfully managing to juxtapose cool with comfort. Even more impressive, we have a waiting list for their collection – obviously my name is fairly near the top – I am lusting after a gorgeous crochet-knit pink cardi-coat. Not bad for hurdy-gurdy-land eh?

SIMPLY DARLING

New British designer Darling launched in 2008 to a fanfare of applause from the fashion industry. Since then their star has risen incredibly quickly and indeed many of you fell in love with their debut Autumn/Winter collection and you were in good company – so did Fearne Cotton (Radio 1 DJ), Holly Willoughby (Dancing on Ice), Claudia Winkleman (Strictly Come Dancing) and Diana Vickers (X-Factor), to name but a few. The label sits very comfortably alongside our top-end designers, whilst carrying a tiny price-tag. Their featured ‘It Dress’ for Spring is a flower print ruffle dress at a credit-crunching £69.95.
